Dr Antonio Mele is AI in Education Fellow, Associate Professor of Economics (Education) and Undergraduate Programme Director at the Department of Economics, London School of Economics and Political Science. His background combines academic economics, computational methods, and research-led teaching design. He holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and works at the intersection of macroeconomics, monetary economics, dynamic contracts, and computational workflows. Christina’s interests are in the relationship between technology and methodology, and the teaching of computer-assisted qualitative analysis. She has published widely on these topics, including co-developing the CAQDAS pedagogy: Five-Level QDA with Nicholas Woolf. She is experienced in using a range of digital tools to enact methods across academic disciplines, and in applied, government and commercial contexts. Dr Jason Hilton is an Associate Professor in Social Statistics and Data Science in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography, University of Southampton. His research focusses on estimating and forecasting the components of demographic change. He has published articles in a range of demographic and statistical journals and has worked with organisations such as the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the Greater London Authority and the European Asylum Support Office (now the European Union Agency for Asylum) on population forecasting and estimation projects and problems. He is currently a member of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) National Population Projections Migration Expert Advisory Panel, and an Associate editor for the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society (Series A).
