The next webinar in our series on freedom of information (FOI) will focus on how to navigate the FOI process in the UK.

The event – FOI requests as a research tool: navigating FOI in the United Kingdom – will be held on Friday, 13 January 2023, between 11:00 and 12:00 GMT.

It is the third webinar in a new NCRM series on the use of freedom of information requests in social research.

The two speakers are Dr Rob Ralston, of the University of Edinburgh, and Jenna Corderoy, an Investigative reporter at openDemocracy.

The webinar series is part of NCRM’s Innovation Fora programme, which aims to stimulate imaginative developments in research methods within the social science community and beyond.

The series is being organised by a team from the Global Health Policy Unit at the University of Edinburgh: Dr Kathrin Lauber, Dr Eleanor Brooks and Dr Rob Ralston.

Summaries of the first two webinars in the series are available to read on the NCRM website:

To conclude the series, an in-person workshop will take place in London in March 2023, with the aim of expanding on some of the discussions from the webinars.
