We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Independent Advisory Board (IAB). The IAB will guide NCRM through its new phase which we entered in January 2020 with an ESRC award for 5 years. Members of the IAB act as critical friends, playing a key role in advising and challenging the Centre in relation to all aspects of NCRM's activities.

Members have been drawn from across the various constituencies of the UK and international social science community and beyond.

‘We are very pleased to welcome the members of our new advisory board, representing a rich mix of expertise spanning a wide variety of areas of interest within the UK social sciences and beyond, both within and outside of academia. I am confident the new board will make strong contributions to the development of NCRM and will add value to how we realise the new vision for NCRM.' (Professor Gabriele Durrant, NCRM Director)

Fiona Steele (Professor at LSE Department of Statistics and chair of the NCRM IAB) added:

‘I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of the IAB as NCRM enters a new phase in the delivery of high-quality research methods training across the UK.  My first involvement in NCRM was as co-director then director of the LEMMA node (2005-2014) when I led the development of the LEMMA online training course in multilevel modelling. I especially look forward to working with NCRM as it expands online provision, alongside face-to-face courses, and develops training on cutting-edge methods for the analysis of new forms of quantitative and qualitative data.'

NCRM are grateful to our Board members for their interest and commitment. The board will meet twice a year and held their inaugural meeting on November 25th, 2020.
