Engage with us

NCRM is keen to respond to ideas and invitations to engage with stakeholders with shared interests in social science research methods and training. Examples of such activities include:

Dementia Researcher podcast

The Methods Matter podcast is a collaboration between Dementia Researcher and NCRM. In the first series, PhD student Leah Fullegar interviews methods experts from NCRM’s centre partners alongside a current dementia researcher utilising that method. The five-episode series was launched at the 2021 Research Methods e-Festival in October 2021.

In the second series, Clinical Research Fellow Dr Donncha Mullin from the University of Edinburgh brings together leading experts in research methodology, and the dementia researchers that use them, to provide a fun introduction to five qualitative research, which covers oral histories and story-telling, grounded theory, visual and creative methods, focus groups and surveys and questionnaires

Action learning groups

We are currently trialling a new engagement activity offering short-term, action learning groups to explore methods up-skilling and training needs within organisations. These take place online over a series of reflective inquiry sessions and discussions. Organisations we are working with include Innovate UK and the Local Government Association.
