Description:

Would you like to find out more about using the Health Survey for England (HSE) in research? If so, this workshop is for you.

Aimed at novice users of the HSE, the workshop will include expert speakers from the survey teams at NatCen and UCL and from the UK Data Service. The workshop will also involve a ‘data surgery’ where participants can book a short appointment with a member of the survey team/UK Data Service for bespoke advice on using the HSE for their research.

In the morning sessions you will learn vital information about the survey such as sample design, how the data are collected and the topics covered in the survey as well as important methodological issues you need to consider when using the data. There will also be a session on how to access the data and how to find the variables you need. The afternoon will involve a practical session in using the data and there will be a parallel data surgery.
