Description:
The course is designed to review and enhance students' quantitative analysis skills as well as to provide participants with an overview of the EViews statistical package.
The course runs for a total of three days starting from the baseline theories and implications in statistics and moving to applied exercises related to real scenarios. Therefore, the learning outcomes of the course would benefit students undertaking both theoretical and empirical research.
Quantitative analysis is a highly demanded skill both in academia and the professional world. Nowadays, many international bodies require expertise in the statistical/quantitative tools such as EViews.
General topics to be covered include:
-
General introduction to Eviews: environment, importing and visualising data, descriptive statistics etc
-
Panel (longitudinal) analysis: description, setting up data, fixed effect and random effect models testing and applications
-
Time series analysis: Autoregressive (AR) and Moving Average (MA) models, AR(I)MA models, unit root testing, co-integration analysis, (Generalised) Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity ((G)ARCH) models
Cost:
£400.00 for external academics and £500.00 for commercial participants
