Description:

Are you interested in learning more about systematic reviewing?

The EPPI-Centre offers a short course in Systematic Research Synthesis, comprising three one-day workshops. The course can be taken as a stand alone short course or as a Masters module at the Institute of Education, University of London. The workshops will be of interest to those individuals wishing to:

- familiarise themselves with the basic principles of systematic reviewing
- read and critique systematic reviews
- embark on accredited training in undertaking systematic reviews

Along with the EPPI-Centre's methods and tools, these workshops are designed to be flexible and include quantitative and qualitative synthesis of all public policy research questions in, for example, social welfare, education, crime and justice, transport, health and health promotion, and housing. Individuals can attend just the first workshop or the whole course.

The next set of workshops at the Institute of Education will be held on:

Workshop 1: 3rd May 2005: Introduction to systematic reviewing
Workshop 2: 10th May 2005:Developing a systematic review protocol
Workshop 3: 17th May 2005: Specifics of undertaking a review

The Social Science Research Unit (SSRU) at the Institute of Education is a Methods for Research Synthesis node of the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM). Under the ESRC NCRM funding arrangements reduced rates will apply for UK registered postgraduate students, staff at UK academic institutions, ESRC funded researchers and researchers from charity organisations.
