Training for PhD and MSc students in the design of social research, quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Fieldwork preparation and logistics: funding, budgets, ethics by Dr Florian Kern.

Do you need support in preparing your own fieldwork? The workshop focuses on the practical issues related to fieldwork using various methodologies. We touch on research ethics, acquiring research funding and setting up realistic budgets, the general logistics of preparing and conducting fieldwork (e.g., participant recruitment), as well as issues of data management and sharing after fieldwork.

The workshop will provide lessons to people working across methodologies and fields. The goal is to provide participants with information on how to reconcile research design and logistics in fieldwork.
