Time use data offer a unique way to investigate issues of social life, paid work patterns, work-life balance, family, gender, and wellbeing, through instantaneous enjoyment.

Workshop content
The workshop will include the following:

  • Introduction to time use research

  • Familiarisation with time use literature

  • Identification of creative ways to use time use data

  • Hands-on data session using Stata: Time use variables and how to use them

 

Eligibility requirements
It is expected that participants are confident Stata users and hold a valid Stata license. Participants are required to have access to the UK Data Service so they can download and work on the time use datasets required during the workshop.

Learning objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with time use research and available time use datasets, so they can utilise time use data for their own research projects.
