Description:

In this in-person introductory course, you will acquire the foundations to understand, execute and communicate data analysis in a widely recognised software platform that was built for statistics. R is used in a number of professions, from academia to government departments and from data journalists to pollsters.

Over two days, you will gain valuable skills that you can market to employers, gain confidence in your ability to work with data, and create a knowledge base that you can build on for years to come.

Topics to be covered:

  • How to navigate the R-Studio environment

  • Reading data into R

  • Tidyverse programming and Base R, including packages such as ggplot

  • Data wrangling, including cleaning data and creating variables

  • Data visualisation, including how to create the right graphs for your data

  • Data analysis, both descriptive and inferential, including t-tests and an introduction to regression modelling

Cost:

The fee per teaching day is £35 per day for students / £75 per day for staff working for academic institutions, Research Councils and other recognised research institutions, registered charity organisations and the public sector / £250 per day for all other participants. In the event of cancellation by the delegate a full refund of the course fee is available up to two weeks prior to the course. NO refunds are available after this date. If it is no longer possible to run a course due to circumstances beyond its control, NCRM reserves the right to cancel the course at its sole discretion at any time prior to the event.
