Description:

This webinar gives an overview of the data available on care and research opportunities in the four internationally-renowned cohort studies run by the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS). It is also an opportunity to hear about the new, unique population-level research by Dr Sam Parson’s on the intergenerational transmission of disadvantage and resilience among care leavers and their children. This session is available live, with your chance to ask questions.

This webinar is aimed at anyone interested in care, including measures of out-of-home care, social service contact, caring responsibilities and social care.

Dr Sam Parsons will then demonstrate the potential of this data by presenting recently published and unique findings on whether the trauma associated with out-of-home care transmits across generation. Including how it may influence the mental health, resilience and educational progression of children of care leavers.
