Description:

This workshop will look beyond the traditional Randomised Controlled Trials framework and addresses multiple extensions of it. It will explain the rationale for block- and cluster-randomisation which most real-world policy-based experiments need to consider. It will show how experiments with multiple concurrent treatments (i.e. factorial experiments) should be analysed and interpreted. Finally, it will provide an introduction to other experimental methods, such parallel encouragement and crossover designs, where the goal is to estimate alternatives to the Average Treatment Effect. These examples will be illustrated with datasets from existing experiments using the statistical programme R.
