A new paper from NCRM researchers analyses the ways in social research methods have been adapted and designed for use within pandemic conditions.

The paper, published in the International Journal of Social Research Methodology, was written by the team behind NCRM’s Changing Research Practices project.

Professor Melanie Nind, Dr Robert Meckin and Dr Andy Coverdale synthesise data from the project to discuss the ways in which social researchers are able to conduct valid, trustworthy and ethical research in times of great challenge.

The authors conclude that some methods are at a critical juncture in their development for times of crisis and uncertainty and that these merit particular attention for those involved in capacity-building for social research.
