The Administrative Data Research Centre for England (ADRC-E) is an ESRC-funded collaboration between the University of Southampton and four Institutions within Bloomsbury (UCL, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the Institute of Education and the Institute of Fiscal Studies).The ADRC-E aims to widen the use of linked electronic records for research, thereby opening up a new era in research to inform for policy, service development and understanding of people's lives.
 
The ADRC-E is looking to recruit an experienced data scientist to facilitate high quality research by establishing and working with novel linked datasets between administrative data sources (health, education, crime, environment, economic and welfare) in England. This is a key appointment, central to ADRC-England and the post holder will be working with a diverse set of researchers and data providers across England and across all aspects of the research data life cycle (linkage, methods, analysis, and curation).
 
The post is available immediately and is funded for three years in the first instance. Deadline for applications is 30 September.
 

Key Requirements

 
Applicants should have a strong academic background and hold a PhD in a relevant discipline or have equivalent relevant experience. Experience with statistical packages and managing and analysing large datasets is required, as is strong experience in relational database management systems.
