Description:

Behavioural scientists are routinely faced with the task of handling large quantities of data, exploring those data, and then analysing those data for the purposes of research, publishing that research, etc.  Although many software tools are available for one or more of these tasks, one of the most powerful and widely available of these software tools is Matlab.  In this course, students will learn the basic skills necessary to handle, explore, and analyze data using Matlab.

Students will learn the basic skills of handling, exploring, and analyzing data using the Matlab data-analysis software.

The course will attempt to teach all of the basic Matlab programming skills that are necessary to perform the data-management and analysis tasks that are routinely faced by behavioural scientists, including the handling of data sets, the exploration of those data sets, and basic statistical analyses (e.g., t-tests, ANOVAs) that are used to analyse data sets.
