Description:

Action research refers to a wide range of research approaches with the potential to generate new knowledge and understanding grounded in daily practice.

Working with participants, its general goal is to create a simple, practical, repeatable process (diagnosing, planning, actioning and evaluating) that leads to improved, more equitable and sustainable ways of working. During this one day workshop you will be offered the opportunity to:

• Learn what action research encompasses
• Identify ways to encourage participants to engage in this form of research
• Explore how data can be generated and analysed
• Consider reflection and reflexive.

Elements of this workshop will require active participation and consider creative ways of generating data.

At the end of this workshop participants should:

• Describe the broad principles of action research
• Discuss ways to engage with the Action Research approach
• Identify ways in which data is generated and analysed.
