Description:

Generalized additive models (GAMs) relax the linearity assumption from generalized linear models (e.g. linear, logistic, and poisson regression) while maintaining much of their easy interpretability.  This workshop will introduce students to the estimation and interpretation of GAMs, using several examples where GLMs perform relatively poorly.  This workshop will be conducted using R.
