Industrial Organization (IO) studies the strategic interactions of ï¬ï¿½rms in markets, and their implications on ï¬ï¿½rms’ proï¬ï¿½ts and consumer welfare. Firms’ market power and market structure depend on demand and technology in the industry.
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the tools (i.e. models and methods) used in Empirical Industrial Organization to analyse market demand, firms' production and market competition.
