Title: Using Understanding Society

Name: Heather Laurie

Affiliation: ISER, University of Essex

Abstract Details

This session focuses on the analysis potential of the new UK Household Longitudinal Study, Understanding Society. The study is following people in 40,000 households across the UK and is the successor to the British Household Panel Study (BHPS). Understanding Society incorporates an innovation panel for methodological research, an ethnic minority boost sample, and the former BHPS sample. Data from wave 1 and interim data from waves 1 and 2 are available. Papers in this session focus on different substantive areas included in the study to provide examples of how the data can be used in longitudinal analysis.
