Abstract Details

This sessions explores the challenges and opportunities for conducting ethnographies of place today. The participants in this session offer a range of new ideas for developing forms of research notation that can represent and analyze the complexities of place. The examples in this session range from innovative ideas regarding mapping the social architecture through visualisation to olfactory surveys and multi-sensory modes of research. In addition, the session will examine the multiple ways place-branding is used and understood by people in local government, businesses and residents. Also, it will explore the global dimensions of youth homelessness.
