Abstract Details

This session examines focus groups as a qualitative research method before drawing on a range of research projects to show how focus groups have been used in practice. We explore the use of focus groups in studying the relationship between risk and identity amongst contemporary youth in Liverpool,reflect on the process of using online focus groups with young people who have chronic skin conditions, and consider the use of focus groups with individuals with complex neurological conditions and with the families of people in vegetative and 'minimally conscious' states.
