RMF2012 Abstracts

Session: Wednesday 4th July AM (09.15 - 12.45)

Title: Visualisation in Research

Name: Les Back

Affiliation: Goldsmiths College

Abstract Details

The written word and narrative are no longer the only medium for research representations or argument. This work shop brings together qualitative and quantitative researchers to explore the opportunities for new forms of visualisation in research from data cloud mapping as a type of analysis to using SPSS graphic software to examine residual cases within multiple regression analysis. In a digital age choices and actions made by people leave a trace that offers opportunities for researchers to develop new forms of analysis without informants necessarily having to tell us what they are doing.
