Session: Monday 2nd July PM (17.00 - 18.00)

Title: Examining the Evidence on Researcher Development: CROS/PIRLS

Name: Sean Moley

Affiliation: NCRM Hub, University of Southampton

Abstract Details

The Careers in Research Online Survey (CROS) and the Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey (PIRLS) provide a valuable evidence base on researcher development.

CROS is explores the working conditions, career aspirations and career development opportunities for research staff, while PIRLS seeks to gain insights from principal investigators on the experiences that have made them research leaders and the skills and abilities they gained along the way.

This session looks at the most recent evidence from CROS/PIRLS and at how it might be used to inform researcher development and guide training and capacity building programmes.
