Description:

Providing you with a wide range of skills necessary for conducting international quality psychological research.

This unique interactive three day course is taught in small groups by psychologists conducting cutting-edge research.

This course provides ample opportunity for you to individualise the programme for your needs. The course covers international research standards, including those for high quality publications; current research methodologies and their suitability for addressing different research questions; different aspects of research processes; advice and guidance on specific research questions (as requested by students during the course; an opportunity to get involved in specific research projects (depending on your interests).

You will receive hands-on research experience and supervision from leading interdisciplinary researches. The course provides opportunities to practice with topics of your specific interest.

This course will cover the following:

Current Issues in Psychology

This module introduces you to the current issues in psychological research, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to studying human cognition, motivation, achievement, and behaviour. The sessions will include lectures from expert researchers as well as practical seminars.

Research Methods

This module is designed to introduce you to advanced research methods, including design and analysis issues. The sessions will be in the form of seminars and practical workshops.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

This module will develop practical skills of data analysis and interepretation.

Ethical Standards and Approval Procedures

Taught by experts in research ethics approval procedures, this module will introduce students to international ethical standards of conducting research and will develop their practical skills of seeking and gaining ethical approval.

Student-tailored Research Experience

Students will have an opportunity to gain research experience as part of InLab's projects. In addition, students will be able to design and pilot their own studies under the supervision of expert researchers.
