This workshop provides an initial introduction to using statistical analysis software for evaluation for people with no or minimal training in statistics. You will be encouraged to bring your own data and computer to practice for yourself with support from the expert speakers.

The workshop covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to key principles of statistical analysis
  • Examples of statistical analysis for evaluation projects
  • Basic introduction to the statistics software packages R (free, open source) and SPSS (commercial product offered by IBM)
  • How to use SPSS and R to analyse your evaluation data using descriptive statistics
