Description:

This workshop introduces students to developing problem-specific models using Bayesian methods.  The morning session will cover the specification of Bayesian models at a theoretical level, starting with examples of hierarchical models.  The afternoon lab session will cover the basics of using the two major packages for estimating custom models, BUGS/JAGS and Stan.  This workshop assumes the material in the workshop session Bayesian Methods 1, or equivalent, although it is not compulsary to have attended the first session.
