Description:

The workshop aims to provide an introduction to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using Mplus. It includes a range of tutorials and practical sessions. Participants should bring their own laptops. Lunch will be provided at a Cambridge college.

  • Day 1: Introduction to Mplus, path analysis and mediation analysis
  • Day 2: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA)
  • Day 3: Multiple group analysis and test of measurement invariance

Technical details will be kept at a level suitable for someone with no prior knowledge of SEM and Mplus. At the end of the course, you should be able to understand and conduct a variety of structural equation models using Mplus.

We believe in active learning and developing practical skills. Thus, the necessary theoretical introduction will be illustrated with practical examples and we will be working with real data. The pace of teaching is adjusted to suit the level of the participants. Teaching will be in small groups so that participants can make the most of the teaching.
