ADLS will be running their Safe Researcher Training course in 2013.
The course consists of six different modules specifically designed for researchers who wish to apply for and use administrative data. A researcher who has attended this course will have the knowledge needed to treat administrative data in a responsible and safe manner, which is the basic requirement needed for any application to a data holder for access to their administrative data.
The course has been endorsed by the major government departments in the UK and the Information Commissioner's Office. The course is also one of the approved training methods prior to any data access for the following:
1. NHS Scotland - ScottisH Informatics Programme (SHIP) health administrative datasets.
The course modules are as follows:
1. An introduction to administrative data in the UK.
The course will be held in Edinburgh on the 22nd January 2013 at the cost of £45 including lunch and refreshments.
