Provocation Panel

This panel will explore VEM as a methodology that can reach sensitive issues and facilitate working with groups considered vulnerable. Such a creative methodology may return agency and dignity to ‘vulnerable’ research participants allowing for a more inclusive research process. Current research ethics processes limit the potential power and expertise of research participants with lived experience. Ultimately, we aim to demonstrate that using VEM when researching sensitive issues will allow for the emergence of more interesting data that can have an empowering effect on both participants and researchers.
