Description:

Are you keen to start using R for your statistics or data analysis, but don’t know where to begin? Look no further! This introductory workshop on R covers all the nuts and bolts you need to get started, including:

  • a detailed survey of R’s most important built-in functions (including the key statistical and plotting commands)
  • reading and writing data
  • creating your own functions
  • using RStudio
  • tips and tricks for working and coding efficiently
  • …and much more!

Short challenge exercises will be used to reinforce key concepts throughout the workshop, and a collection of questions and answers will be provided as a take-away to aid your future study, with follow-up support available.

The workshop will begin from a blank slate – no previous knowledge will be assumed.

Attendees will need to bring along a laptop with up-to-date versions of R and RStudio installed – full details will be sent out post-registration, along with the data files to be used during the session.
