Description:

The workshop consists of a 2 hour lecture plus 2 hour computer class.
This workshop will discuss the analysis of survey data. It will include an overview of survey weights, and how applied researchers can account for complex aspects of survey design in order to obtain more accurate estimates. In the afternoon, a computer-based seminar will provide an opportunity for students to apply the techniques covered in the lecture (using an analysis of survey data). Although time will be limited, there will also be an opportunity for students to discuss any questions they have relating to the analysis (and design) of surveys and secondary data. All students are welcome to attend, although participants will get the most out of the lecture and lab if they have some prior knowledge of linear regression.
