Description:

Making sense of qualitative data analysis: Thematic Narrative and discursive approaches

Facilitators: Eleni Andreouli, Lisa Lazard and Stephanie Taylor

This free research methods Day School is dedicated to exploring the practicalities of using qualitative methods of data analysis. We will discuss thematic, narrative and discursive approaches to examining patterns in data.

The day will be divided into two parts. In the first part, you will be introduced to conceptual issues that frame some qualitative approaches to data analysis. This will provide you with a flavour of how to use concepts during analysis as well as the implications they have for drawing conclusions from your data. The second part of the day will concentrate on working through data using thematic, narrative and discursive pattern analytics.
