Description:

The workshop consists of a 2 hour lecture plus 2 hour computer class.

After a brief introduction to the potential outcomes framework and randomized experiments as the gold standard for causal inference, we turn to observational studies where treatment assignment is beyond the control of the researcher. We discuss various matching techniques as a method to balance observed confounders and thereby allowing for causal inferences under selection on observables. The course assumes familiarity with applied regression modeling and, ideally, some experience with the statistical programming language R.
Session Date: 10am-4pm, Tuesday 25 November 2014
**Please note that this workshop is only available to current PhD Students (failure to produce a valid student ID card will result in no admittance to the event)**
