Description:

The 3 day training will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills required to undertake a rigorous systematic review of a topic relevant to your practice, using an appropriate methodology. Learning outcomes include:

• Understanding the role of systematic reviews in improving healthcare practice

• Understanding the different approaches to systematic review based on quantitative evidence, including meta-analysis

• Identifying a relevant research question and developing a protocol for a systematic review

• Gaining skills in using the JBI software to facilitate the systematic review process

The training is delivered in a stimulating and interactive manner, using a combination of lectures, demonstrations, group work and computer-based exercises.

The training is delivered by experienced researchers affiliated to the Centre for Evidence Based Healthcare (University of Nottingham) and follows the approach developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) – a global organisation promoting evidence synthesis and translation. The courses attract national and international participants and are accredited by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI).

After the course, Centre staff will provide continued mentorship to individuals who wish to pursue a systematic review through the JBI Collaboration. If three Faculty members from the same institution complete all three modules, Nottingham Centre staff can support their institution to apply to become a JBI-Affiliate Centre.

The course fee is inclusive of all training materials. Accommodation can be arranged but is charged separately.
