Description:

In this half-day workshop you will meet other Sociology Lecturers, share new teaching techniques, and learn how to use social data for active learning in your Sociology classroom.  The workshop, led by Dr. Wendy Olsen, highlights teaching materials for undergraduates a case study of studying the Sociology of Personal Life, with a specific topic of living alone. The workshops discuss the specific help that survey data can give for studying sociology topics. A brief demonstration covers practical skills for examining student work that uses empirical data in Sociology.

The workshop will be held from 10.30-13.15 and is followed by a free lunch
