Knowledge management has emerged in the last decade as key activity of value creation, claiming for an economic and social organizational memory building. Culture and organizational learning, supported by modern information and communication technologies advances are responsible for multiple knowledge leverage processes, towards a dynamic organizational sustainability. These and other related topics have been discussed and explored in several academic and scientific meetings all over the world. Thus, it is really an honor for School of Managementand Technology of Polytechnic Institute of Santarém to host the 15th European Conference on Knowledge Management. It will be an excellent opportunity to leverage our knowledge, to share our experiences and to reinforce our academic and scientific networks.


Santarém is the capital of the Ribatejo region and is located just in the heart of Portugal. It is a historic, inhabited since pre-historic times. It wasfounded, as Scalabis, in 1147 by King Afonso Henriques. This ancient city has been occupied by Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians.Known as the capital of Gothic architectural style, Santarém merges through a symbiotic approach, the old traditions and modernity. Land of traditions, this city is also known by its churches, its gastronomy, agriculture, horses and bullfights.


This edition of European Conference of Knowledge Management, apart of being an opportunity for learning and knowledge, it is also an opportunity to discover and embody part of our culture and hospitality.
