Join Dr Kristi Winters from GESIS Cologne, Germany, and Dr Edzia Carvalho from the University of Dundee, as they discuss using discourse analysis to assess how ordinary people viewed the leaders of the three major UK political parties ahead of the 2010 elections.
In this one hour eSeminar, Kristi and Edzia will discuss the research behind their paper, 2010 British General Election Leader Evaluations: Replicating Electoral Focus Group Research, recently published in The Qualitative Report.
During this session, Kristi and Edzia will cover:
• Using qualitative methods in a quantitative world
• Replicating focus group research
• Using discourse analysis through NVivo
• Key findings from the research
• The value-added of NVivo in medium and large-scale qualitative research
A stable, high-speed internet connection is required and a wired connection recommended. You may also find it beneficial to use a headset with microphone if you would like to ask questions during the session.
