Description:

This workshop is designed for researchers who have some experience of multilevel modelling, but now wish to apply it to their own data. The workshop will be limited to 12 participants, with most of the time given to analysis of participants’ own data using the MLwiN software. Participants should be prepared to present their research to the rest of the group, including results from analyses conducted during the workshop. There may also be more formal lectures (e.g. on significance testing, or reporting results of a multilevel analysis), but their specific content will depend on participants’ needs. This workshop is intensive and aims to take researchers to a point where they have the skills and confidence to specify multilevel models appropriate to their research questions, to estimate models in MLwiN, and to interpret the results. By the end, participants should be capable of producing a publication-quality research paper using multilevel modelling.

Cost:

For UK-registered students - £90
For staff at UK academic institutions, ESRC funded researchers, public sector staff and staff at registered charity organisations - £180
For all other participants - £660*
* A limited number of places at the academic rate are also available for other UK non-academics.
