The Ethics 'Guidebook': an Online Training Resource and Practical Guide to Ethics Processes and Procedures for Social Research

1/11/07 - 28/02/10

The project developed an on-line ethics 'guidebook' for the research community, including training and practical guidance in working through the complex and varied regulatory frameworks, requirements and legislation that govern the ethics of research in social sciences. The primary target audience is early career researchers, including doctoral students, who may be encountering research ethics and governance frameworks for the first time. The guidebook also offers a resource for those who train, supervise and support researchers who are early on in their careers.

The on-line interactive resource provides the basis for training, guidance and information for researchers throughout the 'ethics process', from developing and submitting a proposal to eventual dissemination of study findings. It provides a cohesive user-friendly, intuitive and interactive system, offering a practical guide that aids reflection and discussion and promotes good practice. http://www.ethicsguidebook.ac.uk
